Three Seasons Landscaping Tree Farm
Located in Ardrossan, just east of Sherwood Park, Three Seasons Landscaping Tree Farm has deep roots in the Strathcona County community. Originally J and N Tree farm from 1989- 2017, Three Seasons Landscaping has own and operated the tree nursery since 2017. Our 40-acre farm grows over 3,000 hardy evergreen and deciduous trees, carefully selected to thrive in Edmonton’s climate zone. We provide expert tree planting, and moving of all sizes of trees; from potted and basketed, right up to our largest tree spade trucks!
Basketed Trees
For low access yards where space is an issue.
Burlap and Basket trees are great for limited access yards, large quantities, specific varieties and for the D.I.Y. person!
These trees range from 5′ to 12′ tall and can be planted by hand or with a skid-steer. We offer pick-up, delivery as well planting of B & B trees.
-34″ Basket. The root ball is 34″ wide by 24″ tall, weighing in at 500Ibs-800Ibs depending on moisture content. Trees in this size average 5′-10′ in height. They are the industry standard size and are the most manageable to work with.
-45″ Basket. The root ball is 45″ wide by 32″ tall and weighs 1000Ibs to 1200Ibs depending on moisture content. Trees in this size are 10′-12′ height and are basketed at special request, as they are cumbersome to transport. They are great for contractors wanting to get the largest trees into their builds.
Tree Spade Moving
Spade moving trees, skip the waiting on trees to grow!
Our specially designed trucks with their 46″ and 66″ spades can dig, transport and plant large mature trees with ease in heights varying from 6′ to 20′.
From Shelter Belts, Wind Breaks, and Privacy Screens to Feature Trees, the ability to move large trees opens up many possibilities for your yard and landscaping! We can save and reposition existing trees on site if they are in the way of a project or create an instant mature landscaped yard with large spaded trees, making up and saving growing time.
Planning ahead for your tree move.
Trees can only be spaded and moved while they’re dormancy with no leaves or buds showing. This is in the Spring from thawed dry ground to about the end of May, when the trees have budded and leafed out. We resume in early Fall and can plant until major freeze up or a large snowfall.
-46″ Truck Tree Spade. The spade digs 46″ wide by 36″ depth while the trees average 6′ to 12′ in height. The cab-over truck is great for getting into smaller yards where access is an issue. The truck needs at least 9ft width to drive into a yard while the tree to be moved needs to be minimally 5ft away from other objects such as fences, structures or other trees to allow the spade to open and close around the tree.
-66″ Truck Tree Spade. The spade digs 66″ wide by 48″ depth while the trees average 12′ to 20′ in height. This truck needs 10′ width to drive into a yard while the tree to be moved needs to be minmally 8ft way from other objects such as fences, structures or other trees to allow the spade to open and close around the tree. This tree spade digs with water to help the shovels slice into hard ground making for a clean uniform hole and tree root ball.
